00 Cabriolet "blue" gauge cluster installation instructions

Well we all new it couldn't be too long before we all started doing this so this is how fast and easy it is to install it.

Step 1: remove the dummy plate to the left of the headlight switch. This may have ABS printed on it depending on your year and model.

Step 2: stick your finger in the whole that you have just exposed and on the side of the headlight switch there should be a small tab you need to push in then remove the headlight switch, If you are careful you can pry around the switch with a screw driver and pry it out. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!

Step 3: remove the exposed screw on the bottom right of where the headlight switch used to be

Step 4: To the left of the radio there are two dummy plates. Gently pry out the one closest to the cluster

Step 5: Now remove the screw on the bottom left (shown in picture)

Step 6: Now remove the two screw under the steering column that hold the black cover that is in front of the hazard light switch and also around the ignition switch (shown in pic below)

Step 7: Gently pry out the bezel that surrounds the gauge cluster

Step 8: unscrew the two screws holding the cluster in; one on the top left and one on the top right (showing in picture below)

Step 9: pull the top of the cluster downwards it will tilt. (see picture below)

Step 10: pull on the bottom of the cluster and it will pop out of it hinge guides

Step 11: unplug the two connectors in the back of the assembly by squeezing them and pulling them out from in back of the cluster. This is a tight fit so be patient

Step 12: now weasel the cluster out of the dash and slide it to your left right behind the steering wheel. It will fit. If you have tilt column then you will have plenty of clearance but I did not so it a bit tighter but I did not have to force it out at any time. It will come out do not force it.

Step 13: slide your new cluster in, plug it in, put everything back together and turn that bad boy one and enjoy your blue lit cabriolet dash. and the mileage will be set back to 0.0 just like the day u bought it from the dealer. We do recommend you take it to the dealer and have them put a odometer change sticker on it to keep from odometer fraud in the future
